We all know someone whose writing is painful—my mom is one of those people. I'd like to help her communicate better, but I'm not sure how to go about doing that. I wouldn't want to hand her Strunk & White, but her errors call for an explanation of the rules of comma placement and the like. Is there anyway to encourage a middle-aged woman to re-learn how to write without making her feel belittled?

Don't you hate it when people give away the book or movie in reviews? I was just reading a review on a book in a series I want to read and the reviewer totally gave a part in the book away! Please tell me your honest opinion! Thanks. I appreciate it.

Ok, because teachers are evil, my Sociology teacher assigned a paper over Spring break. I need your help. If you could please send me 10-12 words that you think relate to 'aging' or 'old' you will be my next best friend (after the 15 people I have already promised die.) So for example, you might think that 70 is 'old' so that would be one of your words (or phrases) Please give your answers in list form. I have to get 14+ people this next week. If you do choose to participate, please include your Age, Gender, Location, and Ethnicity as these are all part of the assignment. If you don't include them I have to guess. Thanks everyone

Please give your answers in list form like this:
1. 70
2. walkers
3.
4.
etc
thanks!

By: Amber Brazil

Lost to what becomes of me,
every crumb is on the ground,
to make a puzzle of the pieces
would be circles before found'

beating around the choices ,
beating around the bush,
pushing all the buttons but
nothing seems to work,

losing concentration even
sense of time,what will come
tome me must future so
define,so lost inside the
choices that my soul
would so refine.

My gran died last week and her funeral is next week. A couple of us grandchildren would like to say something but are worried that we'll get too upset if we just talk about Gran. Can anyone suggest a good poem or reading? She was a lively, outgoing fun-loving lady who was much loved, so I would like something that celebrates life (and prehaps aging and watching generations grow?) and nothing too morbid. Thanks

There was no traffic, I hadn't expected ther would be at this late hour. A hundred or so yards ahead I was startled to see a male figure in light colored pants and shirt running into the road . A split second later I saw the truck, a dark grey , lifted, one of those 4 wheel drive types barrel out of the woods and run into the man sending him flying into the air. The truck slammed on the brakes then swung a sharp right in the direction away from me racing toward the horizon on the road ahead. I sat for a moment stunned I must have thrown on my brakes because I was parked in the middle of the road.. My instincts as a paramedic kicked in. I grabbed my emergency kit, It contained gloves, and a few supplies. I put my gloves on in the car also instinct for a paramedic at an accident scene. I examined the victim. Checked for a pulse, no sign of life. I needed help, I tore off the gloves use the cars onstar then back to start CPR..The lifeless body was gone. Only my bloody gloves remained.

So you didn't mean to hurt me
with the things you did.
And you didn't mean to make me cry
time and time again.
And they say that I shouldn't be angry
that I should learn to forgive.
Even if I could forgive you
I know I couldn't forget.

Its like throwing sand in the air
and it returning to slap my face.
Every time I hear your voice
it comes close to driving me insane.
But for some reason beyond my knowledge
I simply can't let you go.
Perhaps a part of you
I have encased within my soul.

So I give up and I take you with me
on this journey down into unknown lands.
And when you tend to pop up,
I try to hide you once again.
Its okay, my darling mother
you trully have nothing to fear.
Because as long as you are with me,
I will always want you dead.
