or maybe a rose... sumat romantic! maybe not me then!
or you could rite about sumat and exaggerate it wildly. like there's a Dresden Dolls song and it sounds like she's singing about slitting her wrists but she's actually singing about pulling her wicks... you know, those little pieces of painful skin you get at the side of your nails?... well she was actually talking about pullin them of, but she exaggerated it wildly!

One possibility is to take one word or verse with the strongest meaning in a poem you like and then write your poem inspired in that word or verse. I do that exercise in a course and it was an interesting experiment.

Try making "Yourself" the subject of your next poem.
