Do you understand what I'm saying? If you lived in an area, did you voluntarily fight for the Americans, or could you still side with the British with little retaliation? Did the colonists force people to fight with them? I understood that many remained loyal to the British, hence the moniker 'Torys', but were many of them still forced to fight on the Revolutionary side?

I know I'm being a little bit vague, but do you understood the point of my question?

We constantly hear about the atrocities Hitler committed over a few years, what Hussein did what the Vietnamese did in a war, but what about what the English have done over centuries, they tried to take over every country, they have killed millions and millions of people over the centuries, invaded countries from Scotland 800 years ago to Australia 200 years ago, they almost wiped out the entire Aboriginal race in Australia, Australia was their country not the English. They did the same in America, they invaded France, Wales,The Fauklands, they have killed over centuries yet we never say much about it, what about Ireland and what they did there, etc etc , they have a lot to answer for, why is always others that get blamed for such evil acts and no one ever mentions the evils acts that the English have committed over the centuries, people like Hitler tried but the English succeeded in taking over countries and claiming them.
