I could go on forever about this question. Is this for a paper or something? It takes a lot longer of an explanation than I can give on yahoo answers.
Part of the reason why good people were involved was that they were basically brain washed. Others wanted to follow along with what everybody else was doing. Others thought it was for the good of the country to kill all those people, so they didn't think it was that bad. They were desperate for jobs. Many also just turned their back and pretended like they didn't see what was happening.

People helped others often on the spur of the moment AS HUMAN BEING THEY EXPECTED OTHERS TO DO THE SAME FOR THEM , IT WAS MOSTLY ALTRUISM. I am a Holocaust Survivors and survived often because of simply people doing the right human thing. I am sure you would do the same if you were a true person. See if you wish the yahoo! world group in membership I moderate. You may even want to join. I discussed tyhe same question you asked f recently in an essay Iwrote and posted in the Yahoo! group.: Remember_The_Holocaust ----------------------------Remember_The_Holocaust@yahoogroups.com

Do you mean the people who helped facilitate the Holocaust like the Catholic Church? I think it was a combination of hatred of the Jews and cowardice on their part as they thought it was better to let 6 million people be exterminated like insects than to possibly lose their precious wealth and power.

Most people like to conform with what other people are doing. They don't like to be thought of as different or as having different opinions. It is a human weakness because of the need to belong to a group
