Warsaw, Stalingrad, Leningrad, Brest, Sevastopol, Aachen, Budapest, Breslau and Berlin come to mind.

But why not more? Given the scale of the fight, this is surprising to me.

It looks like most cities were abandoned without a fight, most prominently Paris, but also Athens, Rome and many others.

This is a serious question. They did well enough against the Ethiopians in 1936 and in the Spanish Civil War.

What happened after that?

It seems that they botched every single operation and engagement in WW2.

Why?

I need to read a biography of a famous American for a high school History class. The person needs to be an influential and prominent leader, not a pop star. I'd like a book thats a relatively quick and easy read but still acceptable for an AP class. If anyone can recommend one that I could buy at Border's or something that would be great

Mine's a toss-up between the p47 and the fw 190d/kt series. Both were powerful, fast planes that were very versatile. What's yours? Why?

Also if anybody knows good websites I can visit for information. I would also be willing to purchase memorabilia from Woodstock (poster, program guide, etc.) even if it is a reprint.
