Sorry, I don't know without having to look it up. After reading about it on the Internet, it seems an interesting piece of history of West Virginia. If I was taking a class about labor relations, I am sure I would learn more about this.

I know who he was. he the sherriff of matewan during the fighting. I think he ended up getting shot and killed several months later. The movie Matewan tells all about it.
