I mean consider the fact that Germany lacked air superiority, fuel and things weren't the same back in 1940 in terms of tank superiority and manpower strength.

Moreover America being on the other side of the continent, was left basically intact beside pearl harbour and had the luxury of time and space to increase military production.

Your thoughts?

Didn't Shakespear write in pro's, what ever that is, and poetry. He used a much more flowery version of Enlish than would have been spoken by the common man. At the time many versions of English were spoken up and down the country, but non of them would have been like Shakespear. These old films that have everyone speaking Shakespearean are wrong.

I remember reading years ago that architects of gothic cathedrals used subtle differences in design on purpose.

You may not have noticed that the three portals of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris don't actually match.

I read that at one time there was a movement within the medival architechs guilds where the concensious of opinion was that, perfectly matching elements of a facade was boring.

I believe they even developed a kind of formula to achieve subtle differences to trick the eye in some way. The ancient Greeks did this with the parthenon.

Chartres Cathedral has extremely mismatched towers. I visited Chartres where I asked my tour guide about this when she asked for questions, she acted like my spaceship had just landed.

Any architecture students out there that can shed light on this?
or steer me to further information? Thanks

Was the information about the war given to adolescence in public high schools in America in the 1950s and 60s specific or was it sugar coded? If kids weren't taught all of the facts, when did the schools start teaching the material like it's taught today?

Can his genius best be explained as fortunate timing and a somwhat unorthodox education? Was he merely applying a scientific approach, which emphasized the imagination, to a problem which was on the verge of being solved in any event? How outstanding were his mathematical and logical skills compared to many other eminent thinkers?
