No, because authentic Macedonia is in Greece!
Therefore authentic Macedonia is exactly like the rest of Greece! Not better, nor worse!
Let me explain!
Authentic Macedonia is a historical Greek province. It is situated in Northern Greece between the provinces of Epirus and Thrace.
The ancient Macedonia was a Greek kingdom and it was roughly the same size as the modern region of Macedonia. From the Greek state of Macedonia Alexander started his epic campaign of spreading the Greek culture and the Greek civilization all over the known word. His campaign was so successful that for nearly 300 years Greek (Hellenistic) Kingdoms controlled Asia Minor, Middle East, Egypt and even the north part of India.
There is also a state that emerged from Yugoslavia and it is officially recognized by UN as FYROM meaning Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. That country has no relation with ancient (or modern) Greek Macedonia but it is instead a Slavic/Albanian country. {The 2/3 of the population is Slav-Macedonians (of Bulgarian origin) and the 1/3 is Albanian/Macedonians}
During the communist dictatorship of Tito a great propaganda took place in that state. The propaganda tried to “convert” the mixed population to believe that they are linked to the ancient Greek Macedonians and that they need to take real Macedonia back from Greece.
The propaganda has worked on some on the Slavs and some (few fanatics) actually believe that they are true Macedonians and although they speak a Slavic language and they are part of the Slavic culture they actually believe that they are not Slavs!!!!
Of course the government of FYROM (Slavic/Albanian-Macedonia) has clearly stated that they are not linked to Greek Macedonia and Alexander the Great and is still doing a great effort to stop the few fanatics from compromising the stability of the new state.
Also the Slav/Albanian Macedonia is negotiating with Greece (under the UN authority) for an international name that will not insult the Greeks and will not have any claim against Greek Macedonia.
(The name that the country is using for itself is actually Makedonija but they are using internationally the Greek name Macedonia and a lot tend to confuse the Slavic/Albanian state with Greek Macedonia).

The slavs that were immigrants in the region of Macedonia, lived beside Greeks for about a millennium, before the Macedonian dispute started to arise in the start of 19th century with the break up of the Ottoman empire. So it would not be surprising if some of you have Greek ancestors, since in a millennium, it is more than certain that plenty of intermixes took place (the barrier of a different religion also didn't existed in this case, only of different language). **** But going from that to "We are Macedonians related to the ancient ones and Greeks aren't" is completely ridiculous. Add to the above the claims on Greek soil, that Macedonia is occupied by Greeks that is even learned in schools and there you have a problem. ***** If you dropped the above ridiculous and nationalistic thesis, Greeks might even accepted you as plain Macedonians since you liked that name and is related to where you historically lived. But what we don't see is some good will from your side and intend to move forward in life. Likewise i wouldn't have a problem when a close person to me swears me but without any bad intent in a friendly way, i would if someone did that in irony in order to piss me off. It is the same with the Macedonian name dispute, Greeks mainly have a problem because they don't see any good intent from your side by the identification of being Macedonians, since everything that comes along that identification seems plainly wrong in this case, making it an "abuse" and not a "use" of the right of self identification (territorial claims and the monopolizing - steal of someone else's history).

NOOO!!! Macedonia is actually NOT Greece because history has it that Macedonia was NEVER apart of Greece. Greece wants to take over Macedonia, though.

Yes!! Macedonian culture outperforms Greece's, anyways more than half of Greece is land illegally partitioned from Macedonia so Greece really has nothing to brag about.
