History - June 2007

I'm looking for some information on old asylums/institutions, etc from 1950 and before. I'm looking for locations, history of, pictures, anything.

If anyone could point me towards some helpful sites, or...if you happen to know of a specific insitution that existed during that time and know some history on it, etc, that would be great, too.

It can´t be any of the Gulf Wars though, and it can be a controversial historical figure or war. Although I have to be able to find primary and seconodary sources, so please dont choose anything obscure. Please Help!

I am merely curious to see what you think. Are we doomed to repeat history. For one do you think a war could envelop in our country like it did back then. Second do you think the situation in the middle east will only get worse. Back then the middle east was the site of a war. Now war has enveloped the middle east again. Like I said are we doomed to repeat history again and again?
