It certainly could. It is possible, it is logical, it could happen sooner than you think.
The pound was the major currency around the world during the days of the British empire. The U.S. dollar has been the de facto currency in many places. The Euro is alive and well.
With the spread of the Internet and global banking, money supply will be controlled more by international business and less by government. Of course, the politicians will fight for control but the reality is that people follow money.
American Express, PayPal, and other institutions can not only create money and redistribute money but do influence valuations in supply and demand.
It will be a while before plastic is king, but the revolution has started.

No way. Europe is in a totally different class. the Euro itself is too powerful for the economy of SE asia. other than china which isnt SE ( i know) Vietnam is the only one on the rise. with the stock market jumping 200+% each year, their 16,000 is only 1 U.S dollar. too weak. it could share the currency, but there would ahve to be a massive cash flow to asia to balance out those poor folks. they would never be able to afford money hahaha, ironic indeed.
