Surely, there must have been an intelligence organization even before the OSS was established? In Russia, for example, there was an agency called Okhranka in the 19th century, which was the predecessor of the VCHK (that's how the KGB's predecessor was called). There must have been a similar organization in the US.

I'm doing my homework and I came across a couple questions that I was wondering about. I'm kinda curious about them so if you can answer just one or all of them, that'd be great!
-What kind of of columns do the Lincoln Monument and the White House have?
-The Athenian Parthenon in Greece, does have all 3 types of columns or just one or just 2? What are they?
-How have the specific features on the Partheon affected modern soceity today?
Thats all! Thanks! =D

I have to write a report (7-8 pg double space, 10-20 sources) about a person who influenced American history.
Right now I can't decide between Susan B. Anthony or Franklin Roosevelt.
Who would you pick and why?

My assignment is to compare the rise and fall of the totalitarian regimes in Germany, Italy, Japan, and the Soviet Union.

I was wondering if someone could provide a site where I can get the information?

A mother asked President Bush,
"Why did my son have to die in Iraq?"

Another mother asked President Kennedy,
"Why did my son have to die in Viet Nam?"

Another mother asked President Truman,
"Why did my son have to die in Korea?

Another mother asked President F.D.
Roosevelt,
"Why did my son have to die at Iwo Jima?"

Another mother asked President W. Wilson,
"Why did my son have to die on the
battlefield
of
France?"

Yet another mother asked President Lincoln,
"Why did my son have to die at Gettysburg?"

And yet another mother asked President G.
Washington,
"Why did my son have to die near Valley
Forge?"

Then long, long ago, a mother asked...
"Heavenly Father, why did my Son have to die
on a cross outside of Jerusalem?"

The answer to all these is the same, "So that all may live in peace and freedom."

I am aware this is supposed to be inspirational, but I would like to know your thoughts.
