They were great leaders and great heroes for their respectful countries, but the most credit I would say Nelson Mandela, he fought with extraordinary spirit and he was sentenced to more than 33years in the jail and was isolated from his country for so long. The ultimate point was when he was freed and he was the one whom liberated this nation with great indomitable spirit and respect.

Both are great men, no doubt, who changed their countries for the better. However, I would go with Gandhi.
First, his pacifistic rendition of nonviolent resistance is amazing in and of itself but it also inspired other movements, like Dr. Martin Luther King's.
Plus, and this is no insult to Mandela, Gandhi simply did more. In his day he was all over the place doing his thing, Mandela spent nearly 30 years behind bars. Furthermore, for what Mandela did, he was aided by another great man, Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Gandhi had help but not that kind of help.

Mandela could take Gandhi in two out of three falls, but Buster Douglas would kick the hell out of both of them at the same time.
