Who was the better ruler, Charlemagne or William the Conqueror?

Charlemagne because he was much more interested in culture (witness the so- caled Caroligian Renaissance) and he was perhaps the best person to unify Europe and so to prevent centuries of war and blood

William the Bastard! because he was only half royal blood and became the Conqueror because he won and conquerored. He showed the Royals who was BOSS!
