Both my parents were from Shreveport, La. Dad's sisters married and moved to Texas. His brother moved to Kansas City, Mo. He changed his name to Roscoe for show business. My mother's maiden name was Herren. Her family stayed in Shreveport.

I am looking for my God-mother. But I don't know her social, and she has married several times so I'm not certain of her last name. All I know is where she was born, her mother's name, that she had an adopted daughter, and that up until '99 she lived just outside of Oakland in California.
If someone could help I would be very appreciative. Even if someone could tell me how to find out if she's deceased. Right now I'm trying to do it without having to pay but if that's my only option then give me a listing of "no bull" sites.

Recently I have discovered the towns my great grandparents came from while researching my family tree. My great grandfather, Bartolomeo Palvario came from Lugnacco in Turin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lugnacco) in 1911. In 1914, my great grandmother, Domenica Peire followed from the port my great grandfather left from, of Le Havre. The town listed as her home is Barino. I cannot find any information about this location anywhere. Can you help. Thank you kindly. Also, do you have any ideas on how I would go about contacting the other Palvarios in that area? There are some listed. I look forward to hearing from you. Also I am having the harded time finding info on my Polish great grandparents since the last name was changed slightly @ E.I.

I know for a fact that I am because I have Bollings that married into the Pocahontas family but I'm just wondering how many could actually be in her line?

My Great Grandfather Thomas Hollins was in the Marchmount Home with 2 brothers, Samuel (eldest) and Charles (youngest).
They were together at Stoke-on-Trent Union, Staffordshire. They left England in the late 1800's for Canada. According to records they left behind another brother William and an Uncle Charles who lived in Longton. Should there be anyone that might have knowledge I would love to hear from you.
Regards,
Scott Hollins

I will be visiting this city in April 2007, and am very interested in meeting with any current decendants of the Emmerick family, and local history from this family.
I know that the family followed the Rhine River north up to Rotterdam Netherlands and immigrated to the United States 8 generations ago.
