How many could actually be her grandchildren in honesty? If I claim it and have a line, then I wonder how many others could actually claim this. I know for a fact that I am because I have Bollings that married into the Pocahontas family but I'm just wondering how many could actually be in her line?

Well, she only had one child. I'm not sure what the whole lineage is, nor do I think anyone has attempted to find everyone, but here's one descendency chart that's quite well done and might give you a distant relative with whom you can exchange information and thoughts on the matter: http://pocahontas.morenus.org/poca_desc.html

A great grand daughter would mean that her son or daughter is your grandmother or grandfather. I think the line goes back much further then that. You would have to know how many children she had and howmany her children had and their children and so on. If they come form a lot of large families then you could have many other hiers that could lay claim to the title of having her in their family line. It would take some researching on your part and you may not ever know the full truth since from that time to this you have to consider possible out of wedlock babies and that sort of thing as well. It would also be extremely difficult for anyone to trace all their family lineage back that far and have it be totally accurate. Good luck to you though.

Definitely take a look at the link that Genevieves mom provided. It is a good one and actually makes references to some of the Bollings. I think you will find it fascinating. Great link, Genevieves mom and a thumbs up from HSK!

well lets see... she died in 1617 i think so to simplify everything lets say she had 2 kids that year. i have no idea how many she had or what years, but this is going to be the super simplified form... then lets say that every 28 years the next generation was born and every generation had two kids who had two kids and so forth... so 2007-1617 = 390...390/28 = roughly 13.9 generations... so say 2 raised to the 13.9th power... about 15286. if you dont like any of my assumptions like number of kids then just go through the same process using your own assumptions.

You would need to be the progeny of the progeny of the progeny of one of her children, you know, a direct descendant.

Try charting your family tree and see how far back and in what directions you can go.
