If you are looking for a direct lineage between you and Native American peoples, then you should do some research on your family history, such as local courthouses, libraries, and the internet. You could also ask older relatives for names and places of your ancestors.

Keep checking out the names of the people on your father's side. And ask yourself what tribe was he or do you think he was decended from . Then look up names from that tribe and try to find out if there is or was any connection to your father or his father and so on and so on. If you do come up on the same last names, remember that alot of the indian last names will be caucasian names. Due to the fact that english names were given to people because of various reasons. Some were slave names. But back in earlier times there may have been intermarriages so even native women could have gotten her name from her white husband. It was very rare that a white woman married an indian man. So, it might take you awhile before you find out who married who. From that you will find out how you are related to whom. Good luck with your research.I hope I helped some. This is how I see things right now so keep an open eye an ears to what information you hear from other peoples messages..I am sorry to assume you are a white person. It still applies even if you are black or from another people of color. Be patient and take your time. You'll find out something soon. Be cool.

You may be able to luck out in finding out about a marriage into the family where the person whose the wife/husband doesn't have a US birth record, that would mean they could be from a foreign country tribe. Look for the names of the parents of the bride/groom if available... if you have a photo that's a home run for identifying the tribe, but if not, try the local historical society, they can have records of local tribes to where the couple were married.
