I am directly descended from an Irishman named John MacStreate who came to Virginia as a ship captain in 1609 and signed for the Second Virginia Charter. I've been told by my great grandfather that I'm descended even further to a king named "Harold or someone else". Any place where I can find Street family history that dates back further than 1067 AD? Or/and where I may find portraits of Virginia Street families or glass frame portraits of older portraits? What is the origin of the Street family?

I am researching the Worley family from Georgia. My great great grandfather Samuel Marvin Worley, born around 1863, was Newlan worley's son. Newlan 's father was said to be raised by Indians, and when he grew up, he married a Indian. Therefore, Samuel would be 1/2 Native american Indian. I can't find info on Newlan, and I can't find his parents names. I also don't know what tribe they were from. I am also at a dead end, with Samuels 1st wife Nannie Elizabeth Phillips, born 1876.

Does anybody have any idea's where to go from here?

My family is desended from a tribe formed by two other tribes. My grandmother called them IRA-QUAW or something of that nature. I am wondering if ANYONE has info about this small tribe or knows where I could get the info, as all the people in my family who would have been old enough to ask have all passed away. I belive it was a band of Iriqous and cherokee, or choctaw, I am not sure. I know my grandmother was from Arkansas and her grandmother was full blooded Indian and married a white man which she was kicked out of the tribe for. Thats all the info I can remember. I do not even have a name.

I'm directly related to the Shaw family. Though my biolical father. I found several names assocated with the Shaw family (Adamson, adamsoun, adamsone) list under another Clan name MacGregor. I laso found my Maturnal Grand mother's name Black listed as Assocated with this clan, the Maclean clan. Which I'm' not directly realted to but I had several distant Maclean cousin on my biolical( maturnal) grand father side.
Does assocated mean they related to the main clan. Or are they inter related.Or just minor clans that lived on the land owned by the main clans MacGreggor-Maclean, Shaw.

This is just from curiosity. I notice a lot of people give their children middle names that are also first names...or can be used as a first name. For example Emily Anne or something. I was just wondering-is this more common than giving someone a surname as a middle name like say _____ Johnson Prescott? Or rather, which one do you have in your name and which way do you prefer (if any)?
