I would be interested in contacting my paternal second cousins, descended from my great-grandfather, Thomas Bridgwater (1892-1962). Thomas had four children, Hilda, Joe, Freddie (my grandfather) and Elsie Bridgewater. I've had some contact from someone descended from Elsie via "GenesReunited". However, only people specifically interested in genealogy join GenesReunited or related services. I would just generally like to get in touch with the descendants of Hilda and Joe Bridgewater. I believe that Joe and Hilda are deceased.

I don't know where they live, but presumably Herefordshire or Staffordshire. My side of the family hasn't been in contact with them for years and I have no concrete idea as to where they live. Descendants in my generation would be great-grandsons of Thomas Bridgewater and second cousins.

Is there any way I can look them up on the internet for free?

Searching for my half sister whom I know very little about except her name, her mother's name, and I know we share the same father. I'm not even sure if I'm spelling her last name correctly. Is there a site that could give me information on my fathers' child support payments from 1980-1998?

Finding census records is mostly straightforward, but parish records are a mess. How do I go to the records of a specific parish when searching on Ancestry.co.uk? I can go to the Shropshire section, but not to a specific parish. I keep getting totally irrelevant matches.

I am 27 years old. The name on the birth certificate is of my step fathers last name. I have never met any of my real fathers family. My mom did not come from a big family. Her parents and siblings are dead. She tells me I was a product of a one night stand. My mother is white but I know I am mixed because my skin is dark. She will not tell me anything about my birth father except that he is dead. When I ask her anything she changes the subject. I am tired of not knowing what my ethnicity is.I would like to know what my mix is (my heritage) without having to get a dna sample from both parents.

Adam and Eve were the first man and woman on earth, but if you notice they have no last name. In the bible it says we are all related because of them. So when and how did last names come about? As a matter of fact Mary, Jesus Christ, Joseph, etc. have no last names. We know GOD as God. My daughter asked me this question today and I could not answer. The only thing I was able to say was we have to be labeled some what different or no one would know who they were. If you were standing in a room and five people had the same first name as you and they called that name out we would not know which one they were talking about. Afterwards I thought about it and this is very interesting question: How did last names come about???
