Finding census records is mostly straightforward, but parish records are a mess. How do I go to the records of a specific parish when searching on Ancestry.co.uk? I can go to the Shropshire section, but not to a specific parish. I keep getting totally irrelevant matches.

In response to lollipoppett2005, I am not new to genealogy, but I am new to Amazon.co.uk. If it is the case that one must always look through every parish in Shropshire, rather than browsing through specific parishes, then their system is surely an inadequate one.

I've found that the customer service folks at Ancestry are friendly and very helpful. I strongly suggest that you direct your question there.

Its just a case of going through ALL the parish records of shropshire until you find what you are looking for. genealogy is a lengthy and tiring business, not something you are going to find out overnight. Be prepared to spend many hours reading documents and in some case still not finding the information you need. Been there, done that, got the teeshirt...... still working on it!
