I was told that Ann Hill was half "red dutch" and half "black dutch". Does anyone know what these terms refer to? She was my gggrandma. She was related to the Overtons and Haglers, too.

I know she married John Sweeney (born 1842) and died Aug 9 1925. I would like to know what date she and her husband were born, died and got married, as well as information on their parents, grandparents, great grand parents, etc.

Just to let you know, I've met a long lost relative through Yahoo! Answers. It really is exciting!

In 1940, my aunt and her bf poisened and killed her husband(my uncle) and hid his body in a grain silo. People started asking where he was. After a few days, my aunt's bf took the dead body from the grain silo and placed it in the pasture, thats when my aunt called the police. They never suspected murder. The police report says he died of over exertion and my aunt and her bf lived happily ever after. They both died in 1985. I found out about this from family tree research and read my uncles obituary in the news paper from 1940. So, I am related to a woman who was cheating on her husband and murdered him and got away with it. Great.........

Toronto, Ontario. Did they let the Toronto Public Library borrow a microfilm or fiche on your behalf as well so that you could research it at the TPL branch instead?
Also, how much did each micofilm cost (lending at the centre)? I am researching Poland and would like to make an appointment with them. Helpful suggestions---not "phone and ask for everything" (from experienced genealogists) for the Toronto, Ontario centre(s) are appreciated. Thank you.

I have been trying to find my Cherokee ancestors on the rolls and in my search I keep getting on alot of sites that talk about proving it with a DNA test. Is that enough proof to get a CDIB card? As far as I can tell the roll number would be with my Great Grandmother or earlier.

The slaves were given their owners names, I am looking for a way to figure out what these peoples real name might have been before the owner got them and trace that back? I am looking for the proper or real name of the ancestors of the Kendrick slave descendants from Monticello Kentucky, can anyone help me with this? I am doing this for purposes of genealogy. Thanks ahead of time for all the answer that I will hopefully get. Has anyone else thought about this as an issue and what did you feel or do about it?

They were my great-grandparents and I'm trying to find people who knew them. They immigrated from Russia to the Phillipines in about 1917 (they were menshevic), and from there to the U.S. in the forties. They have 2 children Alexis Sturmer and Natalie Hamel. Roman was a priest at the Green St. Russian Orthodox Church in San Fransisco and Xenia was the matushka. I would appreciate people who knew them to answer, and people who know any really good genealogy websites that deal with things other than U.S. immigration and death/birth certificates (I've tried Ancestry.com & Genealogy.com).
Thank you so very much.

My grandmother was a full-blooded Cherokee, and was not listed on the Dawson (sp.?) Rolls, and I can't seem to find her name anywhere.

She died in 1934, without any paperwork to prove that she was Native American. If I can prove this, I am eligible for lots of financial aid for school, and to have a lot of my student loans erased. (That's not the only reason, of course, I would love to know more about my family, too.)

Has anyone done this, or know how I could go about finding this information?
