i do not know if they did or not but if i know their D.o.b's full names and the area where they lived will i still be able to ask/find this out?

You are hard at work on your genealogy. Here are some sites for military.

Ah, revised for UK, at least it was not a silly answer... There are so many people asking for assistance, the first thing that helps them the most is to specify where they are looking. Thanks for the clarification.

If you get in touch with the Salvation Army in London they may be able to help you, also, look for your local SSAFA FH Office they too may be able to assist. SSAFA FH stands for "Soldiers Sailors Airmans Families Association Forces Help". I'm sure if they don't know the answer they'll put you in the right direction. Good Luck!!

If you post on YA again, here is a tip - even if you go in through YA UK, YA Canada, YA Australia or another country, all the questions get thrown into the same "pot" and read by people around the world. So - mention a country in your post.

Start with the Veterans Administration -- don't call, just stop in and speak with someone at the desk. They're helpful people, and if they don't have the answer, they'll probably be able to point you in the right direction.
