You can go back furthur if you find the right documents, but the method of revord keeping pryer to the 18th century was very crude, and a lot of them were lost during the times of war. There are services that you have to pay that can probably find what you are looking for. Do a google search for "finding my ancestory" or finding my heritage". Good luck.

18th century English immigrants who came from Ireland to the United States and than to Canada after the American Revolution.
Mothers side to 18th century Umbria.
Don't you find it odd that most people who can trace there ancestry back the farthest are usually of English decent?

Mothers side:
Back to 1500s England. We came to the U.S. (Rhode Island) in 1641.
Fathers side:
Came to the U.S. in 1853, married into a family that had been here since mid 1700s.
