Yeah ,I have family living in Buffalo, and they claim that they are stuck there also.
I think it is because they cannot expand on the fact that there is a world outside the little world they have created for themselves where they now live.
Some people get complacent and feel stuck and spend their whole lives wishing they were somewhere else, but there are only a few like yourself ,that breaks free from the constraints of molded environments that everyone expects you to fill.
Good for you that you have found your place in life, and that it does not have to be in a place where nothing changes after years and years.
The only time I hear of something happening in Buffalo ,is if someone dies,or the weather is lousy, which both happen quite frequently it seems.
Some people will never go outside their "safe" zone because they are afraid of change and starting anew somewhere else.

I dont know. But i know NY STATE has the worst economy in the north east. Its a major issue and has been a najor issue the fact that all the young people leave the state to find work in other parts of the country. There are no new families to speak of, and no business growth to stimulate the economy.

Its a shame.

I hate living here, but cannot move. Its expensive, even north of albany. We have to pay high taxes to make up for the city, and the lack of tax payers state wide. Theres far too many tax zones, where a hundred thousand people are trying to pay enough taxes for three times that amount of home owners or workers.

Iam sure pennsylvania probably hasa similar problem.

I was born & raised here in PA and I can't wait to get out.
The weather is bad, the job market is terrible, and it is overall a depressed place to live.
I am just trying to save up enough money to move to the west coast. (Which is hard, because there aren't many good paying jobs, I have hefty student loans, rent, etc.)

As soon as I have the money, though, I'll be gone forever.

I live in western Pennsylvania and I am soon leaving to take a job in the south (most likely Georgia). Truth be told there are not many jobs here for people.
