Dancing

I have been dancing ballet since i was 6 and i stopped for about a year, but i still loved it. Now that i am on pointe, i can't turn well, jump high, or balance very well. I really feel depressed because everyone is so much better (and skinnier!) Can someone give me tips on pointe shoe techniques?!

I've recently quit ballroom dancing and spent a fortune on the shoes so can I weart them out to like parties, shopping etc. The soles are made of felt, so will they get ruined?

What do you think the major stylistic differences are between the development of contemporary dance in the US (dance artist, schools and choreographer driven - more artistic) and that of European (music, theorist and drama driven - more accademic) contemporary dance into expressionist dance.

I danced ballet seriously for about 3-4 years when I was in my early teens. I quit and have danced on and off again throughout the years, but the last time I danced was almost 6 years ago now. I want to be a professional dancer - perhaps contemporary/modern or hip hop. Do you think there's hope?

For a dance project, I want to create a catchy title for my paper - the paper is about my school's dance program, and I need songs with 'dance' in the title or in the main lyrics or chorus, which I can do a wordplay on...it should be a song that is popular and that many people know...i dont really care when its from, though.

well idk i m a dance freak but the dancers on that site are amazing if u haven't heard of it you should go watch some of them you can do that my clicking on one of the years by where it says video in the upper right hand corner then on a city then on a picture or where it says no picture or sumthing close to that

if u have heard of it what are your favorite dances? mine is Rockin' Amadeus from 2006 in Omaha, NE. it is a production number i suggest you all go watch it

hey, i am 13 years old and am doing a lyrical dance...but i need a song, any suggestions?? my friend is singing it and she sings sopprano, so i need kind of a high song but not like opra or anything, lol! also i need some ideas for hair/makeup/moves, etc. PLEASE INCLUDE A LOT OF INFO!!!!!!!!!!!! websites are fine, too. thanks to all who answer,

sexually aroused during dance classes? Like Salsa or some form of dance that is sensual or were the Male and Female have their bodies close or touching? My 11 year old has got it into her head that she wants to go to ballet school. She's been dancing for many years and does have talent. Her ballet teacher has reccomended a few to us but they're all residential.
I honestly can't bear the thought of my daughter going to boarding school- I want her at home with me but at the same time, I don't want to keep her from her dream- what on earth can we do?
