It's never too late to start something new like dancing! I've been in dance classes with people who are middle age and haven't taken dance before.

Most dance studios have beginning dance classes for adults. I doubt you'd be dancing with 4-year-olds!

Good luck! I'm personally into tap dancing, but I did ballet for a few years and did a bit of jazz. Dance is a wonderful form of exercise, and I always remember, even if I had a bad day, I left my dance class in a great mood :)

Hey 16 is the perfect time. Trust me. I started when I was about 7 and was in a class full of 5 year olds. I hated it. but know i am taking advanced ballet, tap, and jazz. don't let anyone say you can't do it. if you love to dance then go for it. think about it this way, many people over the age of 39 are going back to college or even high school! you are just starting out just like they was. you shouldn't be ashmed! go head girl!

I'm 15 and just started ballet in Janurary. Try looking for an adult/teen beginner class. That's what I found. It beats dancing with 4 years old by a mile. Have fun with dance!

It's never too late to learn, to dance- except maybe in some dancing schools. Some cities (maybe all cties?) have a dept of Recreation and in at least some cities, that dept has different k inds of classes you can take- including different kinds of dancing and cake decorating. I took a dance lessons in a city north of me, just 4 years ago.

You can go to an adults beginner dance class since you're older, so you won't necessarily be learning with 4 year olds. You can also do private lessons by getting someone like a personal trainer.

you probably won't end up being a proffesional dancer. but dancing is good exercise if you work hard enough at it.
