I am required to wear this makeup for my dance team-

If you're a dancer, you probably know that if you go on stage with too little makeup, you will look washed-out, and sick looking!!

i would suggest one of three songs...i don't sing soprano but i believe that these are soprano songs:
When you Believe it was from the Prince of Egypt and was sung by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston as a duet but it could be sung as a solo easily there may only be a few spots where one part wouldn't be sung. There are a few chorus parts that either don't have to be sung or you may wish to get a cd accompaniment that has either her or others pre-recored singing on so when you perform it is just her singing with the cd. I would suggest maybe your hair down, half ponytail, or up in a ponytail and natural make-up. For dance moves...I'm a dancer...but I would suggest what ever comes most natural to you when you hear this song.
or
I Want to be Inside Your Heaven by Carrie Underwood. I would again just have natural stage make-up and your hair how ever you feel comfortable dancing in so that it isn't in the way. For me so that is till looks really pretty I wear it in a half ponytail....but I have really long hair.
or
Jesus take the Wheel also by Carrie Underwood. I did this song as a duet with my friend..a dance duet. It has a real strong story to it. And I would suggest the same hair and make-up.
For dance moves i would also suggest the same for all of them what I said for the first song. I know that that wasn't much help for dance moves but I had to also choreograph that song as a duet, Jesus take the Wheel, and it was my first time and that really helped me a lot. If you are going to make your lyrical dance tell the story in one of the songs I would suggest printing out the lyrics and without making it a interpretive dance have some of the words match what you feel in the point of the song with those words and those lyrics. There are many techniques that you can use to choreograph a dance but that is one of the easier ways...I believe.
well I hope that some that helped in some way.

OK well i don't know if this is good enough for your friend to sing but hurt by Christina aguilera is a really good lyrical song and if you go to kar kids competition website you can watch as lyrical dance that won an overall award. hair should be in a low pony parted to the left w/ some bling in ur hair like barrettes or something like that. For makeup use dark black eyeliner with brown sparkly eyeshadow and the color of ur dress.

Some really nice lyrical songs that would fit with what you're seeking are the following:
" A Piece of Sky" from the film Yentl. You can listen to a snippet of the song on amazon. Hit the link below and scroll down mid-page to see the list of song samples.

You might also want to check out "Home" and "Be a Lion" from the musical/film The Wiz. There are two versions of "Home", but the one I'm referring to is the finale. Both songs are on Disc 2 (you'll have to expand that disc listing for the "Home" track is #11 on that disc and is numbered #26 when the music sampler driver comes up).

I'm sure whatever you chose will be wonderful. Have fun, and good luck!

I did a lyrical to a song by Brave Saint Saturn called "Daylight". What song you use depends on who your audience is. Are you performing at church (like I was), or for a competition? Another song I really like is "Headlights" by The Classic Crime.
The choreography you use all depends on the song, and again who your audience is. I reccomend a search of youtube, google, or myspace videos for ideas. Depending on your skill level, fan kicks and split back rolls are present in a lot of lyrical dancing.
Hope that helped! If you want more choreography ideas once you have a song, don't hesitate to let me know!

try some songs by linda eder, they are amazing to dance too. her songs can be really emotional, so try and feel the music. it would be more of a classical dance, so maybe try your hair in a low ponytail with sparkle clips.
