All the HP hoopla has me thinking... There have been many wonderful book series over the years... what's your favorite?

Myself, I once got addicted to the wagon's west series, and 37 books later I was at a loss when there weren't anymore...

Have just finished reading it, was 1st out of Asda last night with my book, read till 7am slept till 12noon and finished it at 2.45pm today. Can't talk to my friends about it as they are only on chapter 11!!!!! The book was well worth the wait. Long live Harry Potter and J.K Rowling.

I am looking for a book to read. I want to read the following, but they are all checked out of the library:
Children of Hurin
Old man and the Sea
Dark Tower (book V)
Mere Anarchy
The Road

Based on these, do you have any suggestions?

Other than the obvious, what is the process for writing a book and putting it on the shelves?

I started writing a book for fun and it's turning out pretty good. Should I decide to put the time and effort, I was wondering what steps I would need to take to actually make money from selling it. Thanks.

I haven't read the book, nor will i be getting it until the paperback is out so i am bound to find the answers before i read it. The below are my predictions for the outcome to the book, if anyone reads/ has read it then let me know how close or way off i am!!

1) Harry Potter lives and settles down with Ginny Weasley
2) Ron and Hermione finally get it on
(this way you know they will all remain in each others lives after the stories end)
3) Hagrid and Voldermort die.
4) Dumbledore never really died, it was faked in some way or another.
5) Snape has been a good guy the whole time and was somehow implemented to protect Harry

I know it is about wizards or something. But can you give me a plot? Is it any good?

Yeah I guess I have been living under a rock or something.

The one from 1812 before any editing/censoring occurred. Preferably in English, but if in German that would be ok too.

What is it with Harry Potter book series? I don`t get it what makes it so special... I mean for kids yes... and imature teenagers but I know that some grown up`s like the book too. I mean it is not a mature book (I am refering to philosophy, and other things). So what makes it special?... I find it booring.

Can you sue both the intended author of that copied book and the company that intended on publishing it?

Cause I havent read any of the books, but I wanted to get the hard cover versions of them in a set. Or do I have to buy them seperatly? The only reason I ask this is because its cheaper in a set, buying individually costs more.
