Books & Authors - October 2006

I have all these ideas for my first novel but, like an idiot, I'm too lazy to type an outline or buy index cards to write character descriptions. I know I have to have to write these ideas down or otherwise I'm sunk.

Any advice on how to get in the habit? Also, any ideas on HOW to outline a novel or maybe there's some kind of formula to it? Since this is going to be historical fiction, I'm also going to do some research (it's about a romance between an English schoolteacher and a young Scottish minister in late 19th century London) so how would the research fit in with the novel outline?

It's also weird because I keep having dreams about my book as well as who's going to star in the film adaptation...LOL. In fact, the only way I can visualize the book is to figure out who would star in a possible film adaptation of it.

all right...i'm embarassed about this a little bit 'cause experienced people keep telling me to get real & not live in a fantasy.

i'd love to write a bestseller in a couple of years' time. i've given this a lot of thought and maybe, just maybe I could do it. the problem is, when I hear people saying these things I get completely discouraged about anything in life. this bestseller would save me in a way - it would leave me with a sense of great accomplishment and change me for the better. i've exp. a lot of hurt and this is the only thing I feel passionate about.

My understanding is that Kylara is forced to live the rest of her life in the prison of her own mind, with the outward appearance of having only the intelligence of a babe.

Does anyone know any more specifics about her? Like where she was left to live out her life? Who had to take care of her? Did she ever recover? Did she ever manage to suicide?

And, finally, do you think Anne Mccaffrey or her son Todd should write a book telling Kylara's entire story?

In my opinion it's Lolita by Nabakov.

I have seen great prizes like Nobel or Pulitzer awarded for stories or novels. But I want to know how many Nobels have gone to poetries. Better if someone can tell me the books also.

At the school of performing arts studied 3 friends- Ricardo Nash,22,
Mitsuto Mori,23, Gabriella Garcia,21,
They are all college students studying at Julliard College.
All with the same goal to have a future i the world lof arts and science. Ricardo wants to be a Director, Mitsuto wants to a producer and Gabin wants to be an actress in Broadway.

They were the best of freinds living a normal life until
A strange computer virus caused by an accident in a labaratory in were the father of Gabi works, at that time gabia nd her two friends were there at night the accident happned, apparently a virus had affected the computer, the cause was a bug was inside of the computer. The virus did not affect the scientist because they got out of their just in time but gabi, ricardo and mitusto wetre not so lucky, strangley htey were affected but something incredible would happen, the virus thatb affected them made their bodies virtual meaning they had become super human!

Hi. I don't know if anyone understands me but whenever I read I can't hear myself speak the words inside. I can read and understand it but I can't actually hear myself when I read without my voice.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

He was a British zoologist and writer. Read his books as a child in Russian translation, but can't find any here. I am not 100% sure about the spelling, could be Darell or Darrel, etc.
The books are great, funny and endearing, about animals, and his family. One was named something like "My family and other animals".

I'm so sorry about the other day..
I was angry, and so unwanted,
Unloved and broken.
I sould have thought...
before i jumped from high off the clocktower.

For i did not jump...

by something else, and i havn't figured it out yet.

I'd like to find a site with orignial comic designs by people- just like those photography sites around that you can browse through and look at others and post your own. I'd also like a site that allows you to write descriptions of prefered superheroes or villians of your own with people maybe able to answer you with ideas of how you should draw them. Also...maybe some competitions on the site perhaps...of the best made plotlines or drawings for original comics?

How good a writer was he compared to some of todays very skilled novelists? SInce he's not even available to a mainstream contemperary audience because the language he uses is so very different who can actually tell me in relatable terms why he was so good? He has no skill for comedy it seems anyway. I don't beleive I've ever heard from anyone why he was so good.
