Can anyone explain this poem?
Valedictory Sonnet to the River Duddon
By William Wordsworth
I THOUGHT of Thee, my partner and my guide,
As being pass'd away.--Vain sympathies!
For, backward, Duddon! as I cast my eyes,
I see what was, and is, and will abide;
Still glides the Stream, and shall for ever glide;
The Form remains, the Function never dies;
While we, the brave, the mighty, and the wise,
We Men, who in our morn of youth defied
The elements, must vanish;--be it so!
Enough, if something from our hands have power
To live, and act, and serve the future hour;
And if, as toward the silent tomb we go,
Through love, through hope, and faith's transcendent dower,
We feel that we are greater than we know.

And please don't say the bible. While it is an influencial book obviously pick something else that you have actually read and give me the reasons in your own words.

I am absolutely in love with this series, and the thirteenth book should be coming out. (Maybe it is already out...?) If anyone has the answer to this I'd be super grateful! Thanks!

Do you believe that snape is in love with lilly potter, and thats why
he is still a good guy (even though what happened in book 6)?
I could write my own argument as to why, but im kinda tired...

I'm totally hooked on this author. So far my favorite book has been Haunted, his most recent. I really like the "guts" excerpt.

To clarify: Any book, any topic, ever written, that you've actually read. I'm sure there will be a lot of Da Vinci Code/Angels and Demons posts, but honestly, out of anything, what is it?
