Do you believe that snape is in love with lilly potter, and thats why
he is still a good guy (even though what happened in book 6)?
I could write my own argument as to why, but im kinda tired...

He might have had a crush on her, but I doubt he was in love with her. I don't think Snape is a bad guy, though (which might be wishful thinking). I think Dumbledore knew how valuable he was to the war effort, and since he made the Unbreakable Vow to do what Malfoy couldn't (kill Dumbledore), I think they had an agreement of how things were to go down. After all, Dumbledore was too great of a man to be fooled by Snape (I would hope) so I just can't hate him yet.

I think that whether or not Snape is still in love with Lilly Potter, he probably made some unbreakable promise at some point to protect Harry because he was in love with her then (and he was _definitely_ in love with her at some point). Of course, if he's still in love with her, and can't hurt Harry because of that, but didn't make any kind of promise, then that would fit with the whole theme of love being the most powerful thing in the world. Then again, if it is a promise he made because he was in love, then it's still the love thing, just not quite as directly. So either way. But I'm pretty sure that his not being able to hurt Harry ultimately comes down to his being or having been in love with Lilly.

I also think that Dumbledore _knew_ that Snape couldn't hurt Harry because of the thing with Lilly, and that's why he always trusted him, even knowing he was a (possibly not former) Death Eater.

I highly doubt that Snape was in love with Lilly Potter. I think that he is still a good guy and will prove to be a hero in the end, but I could not tell you why.

I think it might be possible that Snape was in love with Lily Evans because she was one of the very few people who were nice to him when they were in school. It could also be another reason he hated James Potter so much.

That is a Brilliant theory i never thought of it that way but now it make sense he never said he didn't like Lily Just James and he's not all bad or otherwise we wouldn't have saved harry all those times

GREAT THINKING !!!!! ;-D

In love with Lily Potter? Possible, but I think he is really evil, and if he did really love her, he would not have turned evil.

She was always nice to him and stuck up for him, probably one of the few people who did, so that might be it...

interestingly yes, that sounds like a great assumption. but i think it is possible that Dumbledore planned it all and he didn't really die, maybe he faked his death.
