I am going to start a novel, but I am unsure of which era to set it and would like some feedback. It is going to be set in Venice, and be a drama. The time periods I am thinking of are the late 1930's, the Edwardian period, or the 18th century. What do you think?

...start my own online business? I want to sell photomanipulations and art prints- I've already sold a few to people around here, but I'd like to broaden my horizons. I'm just not sure how to go about setting up a website and all- any suggestions?

(I don't know the first thing about HTML- if I made my own site I'd have to use geocities or something... is it possible to operate a business from a geocities account?)

It was not so much that we were lost souls, but you might say that we were difficult to find. Each one of us had a meandering tale that wound through Petchaboon Province, a natural paradise and rarely visited outer-province in North Central Thailand. We were joined by our isolation, which was possibly the only thing that we had in common.
This was what Fenwick was telling me while we sat in the cafeteria at the nursing home. He was visiting his Uncle, who we all called the professor and who was far and away the most eccentric of our residents. I am a janitor in the home; I am a listener.
Everyone here has stories to tell, and Fenwick, well, I was still trying to figure him out. There were not too many stories in this particular nursing home in suburban New York that took you as far away as Petchaboon Province.
The journey through his words was forever the road not taken as he might tangent into anything. His stories were a rollercoaster off its tracks, sailing on rainbows and cascading into shrouded mountain mists. They bounded from elephants to an episode of the Twilight Zone from the 1950s: who knew where the story might go? I looked at his head as if I could see into it, but all I could imagine was a pinball machine let loose to carom amongst a Milky Way of stars. I listened intently to what Fenwick was telling me of Petchaboon Province and the Expat Group that he and Harry The Finn had formed.

Really? Do you have to be a good dancer at a club. Or just jump around? I'm pretty good with DDR. But I'm not a good freestyler.

I recently purchased (what I hope) is an antique violin for about AU$150.

The label inside reads as follows:
COPY OF
Antonius Stradivarius faciebat Cremona 1713
MADE IN GERMANY

Also, to the left of the label there is a logo of a violin inside a diamond which is on top of what looks to be the upper half of a globe, and there is a letter on each side of the violin logo neck - KH. I know it is old because there is spotting of mold inside.
I think it is a factory instrument, probably made in czeckoslovakia c.1920 onwards, but then again I really have no idea.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I bruise you
You bruise me
We both bruise too easily
Too easily to let it show
I love you and that's all I know

All my plans
Have fallen through
All my plans depend on you
Depend on you to help them grow
I love you and that's all I know

When the singer's gone
Let the song go on...

But the ending always comes at last
Endings always come too fast
They come too fast
But they pass too slow
I love you and that's all I know

When the singer's gone
Let the song go on
It's a fine line between the darkness and the dawn
They say in the darkest night, there's a light beyond

But the ending always comes at last
Endings always come too fast
They come too fast
But they pass too slow
I love you and that's all I know

That's all I know
That's all I know...

I love you

I would rather approach a publisher alone without an agent. I don't want a middle-man. Can I achieve this in reality, and how open to uncommissioned work do you think most of publishers are. I want to be traditional and not have to conform to the 'way to go' of today. All points considered and sorry if I don't pick yours to be the best as it's hard to pick sometimes.

Some of her writings have "blown me away". She writes stories and poems. Her latest poem was about her Gramma who recently passed away. It brought me to tears. I would very much like someone to look at her work.

I have to make a mobile about a non-fiction topic, from a book for school. I chose penguins but I can't think of anything creative to hang my pictures from. Everyone else will probably do a hanger but I want to be more creative. Anyone had to do something similair? I was thinking some kind of snowflake thing, but I don't know how I would do that.

My brain is not working tonight. I'm looking for a word. This category seems to be the right place to find it. Would somebody please fill in the following blank?

IF "faith" means accepting something as true without proof (factual evidence, not logical argument),

THEN "_____" means accepting something as true only with proof.

I'm not looking for complex philosophical/theological discussion. I'm also not looking for overly broad words like reason, logic, science, doubt, etc. (God knows any of these could underlie faith!)

I just need a word that describes the condition of acceptance upon receiving proof. You'd think there would be such a word, but I just can't dredge it up right now.

Before you plan your trip to shoot a Sunset image, is there some way to tell if it will be a wild one or just a plain old boring Sunset? I don't need answer of "red skies at night sailors delight".
Or do have to pack up and just go out and take my chances? Maybe there is a chart or something?
I don't want to waste my time driving miles to get bad light.
