I have a 1859 copy of a German prayer book Called "Himmlischer Blumengarten". It may be water damaged, or it might just be it's age. but the print is still completely clear, there are no pages stuck together, no smearing, and the print is darker than in any book you might buy today. I was wondering about how much it might be worth?

I'm looking for the original French version of the following quote from French novelist Honoré de Balzac: 'Equality may perhaps be a right, but no power on earth can ever turn it into a fact.'
Thank you!

I'm trying to remember the name of a book about a man who's name I cant remember. He is part of an experiment where a group of people are able to live to be hundreds of years old, he breaks away from the "family". There are several books in the series, written by an American Author.
Any idea?

Over the summer i saw an advert for a show at the Tate but never got to see it. It was made up of human bodies with the skin removed and pumped with a sort of phermaldahide so as to preserve it. I would love to know what this show was called so i could see it

human sacrifice? This was one of the reasons the Catholic church thought it was okay to enslave the native peoples of the Americas during Spanish colonization. Makes no sense to me

The following is hand engraved on a window in my home in Berkeley, California:

"A house for wisdom, a field for revelation.
Speak to the stones, and the stars answer.
At first the visible obscures: Go where light is."

There is an author indicated (well known) but I cannot find this poem (or excerpt from a greater literary work) referenced or attributed to this person beyond my window.

According to the owner, this was scratched into the glass sometime in the early- to mid-sixties. I don't want to reveal the source as I would like untainted answers. Flex your prose skills on this one, I am curious to see what people come up with...

Does anyone one else wonder if they were put on earth for a reason. Because I feel like if I die tomorrow, nothing will have changed, I serve no purpose whatsoever. It's very perplexing.

If I decide to be a doctor, I 'll have to spend one-fifth of my life time to be a skilful doctor. Moreover, it'll set me back much money and it is uncertain to get a good position in docter field. The advantages are that I will be happy if I choose to be a doctor, and my family want me to be a doctor. I think to be a businesswoman is more easy, but I think I'll not have a peaceful mind if I do it.
