As a presbyterian I might wonder, If a group had a translation they insisted was the best clearest ever, but wouldn't say who translated it, would or should someone be suspicious. If an unqualified but sincere person tries to translate the scriptures how to they guard against 'translating' to their point of view.

for example, The New World Translation is anonymously transalted and word on the street is that it was done mostly by a past leader who had a couple semesters of Greek and self taught in Hebrew Should one trust it... would it be a case of trusting the organization... and transfering that trust to a particular viewpoint translation... or is it good scholarship? and why would you consider it good scholorship

Let's say I said " President Clinton was a worthless pig" and in return I was called "stupid", shouldn't I just suck it up or should I cry to the moderators because I was offended?

my boss came around this morning and handed out blank birthday cards for all of the employees to sign for one of our nurses that lost her father a few days ago and is having a birthday today. the cards were the very religious type and i really didn't feel comfortable signing it but i just knew that everyone here in the office would give me a hard time about it if i didn't. basically i felt a lot of pressure and signed one even though i really didn't want to. now i feel like a hypocrite. what would you have done if it was you?

Have you seen any effects of global warming in your home country, in your own backyard?

For example, lack of rainfall or shorter winters?

It would help if you could tell me which country you're from, and which part of that country. Thanks!

While out walking yesterday I suddenly felt giddy, sweaty and dying for something sweet to eat. As soon as I reached home I ate about three Kit Kat bars and soon after felt OK again.
I seem to remember this happening before, about a year ago and I thought nothing of it at the time but, asking around this time people tell me it is called 'hypoglycemia' which I thought only affected diabetics (which I know I'm not), so, could it be hypoglycemia or if not what else could it be. Incidently my normal diet is pretty high in sugar anyway.
Thanks in advance.

I believe it was somewhere between 8 and 15 years ago that a team playing the Texas Rangers hit 3 grand slams in the game and the Rangers won by a score of I think was 13 to 12. Does anyone remember the game and who the other team was and the exact year that this happened? There were not many 3 grand slams in any game by one team and I believe this was the only game ever lost by the team that hit the slams.
