I need a book or publication (written in laymans terms) to help ,me try and understand these phenomena. I have read *Abrief history of time* by Stephen Hawking and other books but *duh* I cannot get the ideas straight in my rock solid head! I am not a scientist. Just a curious guy who is an avid reader and wants to try my best to understand. I have read science fiction since the early 1950,s. I read other novels and some hard science but do not claim to understand a lot of it. Please help! I am 65 years old and this question has eaten at me for a long time. Thanks!!

a week before my period i bled some..... just a very little once when i went to the bathroom... i thought it was my period, and when my period never came i was unsure so i thought it might have been implantation bleeding and being as i have had unprotected sex i wondered if i was pregnant..... i am a week late now, but i don't know if the " spotting" set me off and made my body hold out on my period... but i have a doctors appointment in 3 days.. i don't think i am, but have no reason to believe it.. if my body is tricking itself into stopping my period ... is there a way to make it stop, im so anxious to find out one way or another

Hi everybody,

I have this nasty addiction to day dream, this is happening to me for about 15 years (this is not a joke), every day for about 5 hours non-stop just lieing in bed and listening to music and thinking of a perfect life. And after i get out of bed and start to do something i am still thinking about that dream.

After this much time i have come to realise that this is very very bad for my REAL life.
I have LOST so much in all this time, people strated to look at me differently...all the things have NOT done....bad grades at school....my girlfriend left me...just because i wanted to stay alone in my home and think(dream) about some things that could never happen to me.

I want to STOP this, it is destroying my life.
Please give some advice how can i get my real life back.

LDS means Mormon, by the way. Does the religion of the president matter to you? Of the 43 presidents we've had, only one has been Catholic (Kennedy). The rest of them have all been Protestant. So if the candidate is the right one for the job, can he separate religion with his politics? Or will they cross over no matter what he does?

the idea of solipsism.

the matrix/brains in a vat theory says that our brains could be in jars and our whole life and everything we have ever known is an illusion

solipsism is the idea that you are the only thing that exists and that your subconscious mind has created this whole illusion that is you life. nothing exists but your mind and its perception.

however, either way whether we are brains in a vat or the possiblity of solipsism. wouldnt it be contradicting and false if we as the experiencers of the illusion even call it in to question? i mean this highly complex illusion is so perfect and crystal clear down to its every detail that it has to have been created to accept as truth and reality, wouldnt it destroy the whole meaning of creating it in the first place if we recognize it as an illusion or even come up with the thought of it even being a possibility? why put stimuli or ideas in the illusion that would call it into question? Illusions are made especially in these two cases to deter you away from the truth and true reality. I mean if the two scenerios were true then why make the movie the matrix to even play in you illusion/life if it is going to give you ideas? Why even allow the thought of doubting it all even be possible?. So it would be especially designed in a way NOT to call it all into question. So the very fact that we can even question it without it all falling apart shows that this is in fact reality.
