Hi everybody,
I have this nasty addiction to day dream, this is happening to me for about 15 years (this is not a joke), every day for about 5 hours non-stop just lieing in bed and listening to music and thinking of a perfect life. And after i get out of bed and start to do something i am still thinking about that dream.
After this much time i have come to realise that this is very very bad for my REAL life.
I have LOST so much in all this time, people strated to look at me differently...all the things have NOT done....bad grades at school....my girlfriend left me...just because i wanted to stay alone in my home and think(dream) about some things that could never happen to me.
I want to STOP this, it is destroying my life.
Please give some advice how can i get my real life back.
THANK YOU in advance

hey, keep the dream, but remember to act on that dream... you know like Nike, "Just do it." then you will find that you can unleash the perfect life you want... the difference of people who has it and has nothing? ACTION... ;-) Act on it now and the world will give way... because you know where you are going... ;-)

It's normal to day dream, but not to this extent. You need to get out and do something to keep your mind active. It actually sounds like your going through depression. Which worries me. You may also want to consider talking to your school councilor.
Instead of day dreaming about the spot light and changing the world. Go get in the spot light with your friends and actually do something to change the world. You don't realize how much power you have to effect people and there by things for the better. I wish I would have known at your age.

Day dreaming is something we like enjoy doing from time to time but it sounds like it has become a real problem for you. You are wasting your days dreaming instead of working towards your future goals. Daydreaming won't get you those dreams, but hard work, saving and planning for your future will. Make some short term goals and try to reach them by a certain time. Start small to begin with and then make your challenges bigger. You will and can come out of this and rejoin life. Get up, get out, get to living!

i actually don't have an answer on your difficulty, I merely had to make it easier to comprehend which you're no longer on my own. whilst i replaced into youthful, approximately 11 or 12, i could do an identical ingredient. I continuously had to have the song on and that i could take a seat in my rocking chair for hours having a pipe dream approximately what i wanted. I propose relatively having a pipe dream approximately made up eventualities in my head. i finished whilst i replaced into approximately 14. considering then I even have lived a common, chuffed existence. This previous weekend i offered new fixtures for my front room, which secure a rocking chair. For the previous 3 days all I even have accomplished is sat in that chair listening to song and having a pipe dream for heavily 4 or extra hours at a time. i'm now 28 years previous, and merely having a rocking chair in my handmade me fall lower back into my "dependancy". I even have desperate to return the chair first ingredient in the morning. In my case i replaced into waiting to rid myself of the reason for my difficulty. in step with probability in case you may, think of what it relatively is that compels you to flee from actuality and the you will be able to correctly be waiting to rid your self of it.

Dreams will continue to be just dream if you do get off your butt and do something to make it happen.
Prefect ... bad news there is not prefect life as prefection is in a state of mind. But there is Mindfulness being full aware of the moment and enjoying that moment.
Wake up in the morning and write a Things to do list..tick it as you complete what you wrote ... this will help you get thing going.

Wow i acutrally am getting into this addiciton the pass month too. for me its not thinking about perfect life but a bit of everything. I found myself sleeping a ton and got much lazier then ever, knowing i have stuff to do. I dont really know how to withdraw this addicition but i found that when i am with others I dont do it as often...(not at home). my guess is to try to have a set schedule and force urself to follow it. Go to the sun more, real life could be as good as ur dream. =)

wow i thought i was the only one to do this. i don't know what to tell u, just make yourself stop. do anything instead. find something more meaningful (not something that simply feels good, something that is really good for you).
well the first step is to recognize u have a problem. try psychological help. or try telling pple about your dreams instead of doing it alone. or write them down...
