I thought it was pitiful that this nation chose to talk about what a wonderful man Gerald Ford was after his death than before. I had never watched an autobiography about him until after he died. They should have let him be honored and told what a great guy he was before he was dead. What is your opinion?

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE 1940's, 50's, 60's and 70's !!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a tin, and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, our baby cots were covered with bright coloured lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking .

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a van - loose - was always great fun.

We drank water from the garden hosepipe and NOT from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.
We ate cakes, white bread and real butter and drank pop with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because......
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem .

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no cell phones, no text messaging, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms..........WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents .
We played with worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
Made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not poke out any eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them!

Local teams had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned

HOW TO
DEAL WITH IT ALL!
And YOU are one of them!

CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good and while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were.
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!

And not like online or anything, like something you've actually said yourself or heard said in person. I have an English teacher who deals out the worst one line puns/jokes I've ever heard!

I was visiting my gf of 5 yrs this week and I noticed she left her email open so I peaked into her sent emails. I know this was wrong, but this was the message I found. It was from her to some guy named Greg on Dec 10th.

" Hey there...fun night? we're not doing too good at this huh....

I do appreciate the shout out....I;m assuming you either 1) never got my email or 2) were feeling pretty lucky. Its cool, if you're trying to get me killed I guess :). Actually, since I never heard from you I turned my phone off last night-I would have enjoyed late night drunk Greg!.....if I;d been alone.

Actually feeling guilty again tofay though - sorry I am weak. More that I hit on this off-the-market guy on a daily basis.

Good luck studying. And tonight - yes I'm alone if your phone works"

I asked her and she said he is a friend who lives out of town who she got flirty with. She said it was nothing but got too intense and she ended the friendship. She said nothing physical happened

I have a friend that is 19 years old. We live in Kentucky. His girlfriend which is 17 years old wants them to runaway together because her parents doesnt like him because of the person he was in his past in which he has now drasticly changed himself into a much better being. She is fixing to go to the courthouse and try to terminate her parents rights, she says she heard something on the news about a year ago, and if im not mistaking I also heard, that they passed a law here to where you can get your parental rights terminated between ages of 16 and 18 years old. Her parents do verbally abuse her and threaten her alot. They are a cause of severe emotional stress and she is becoming deeply depressed. They are very controling. Is there a way that she can terminate her parents rights as a 17 year old if she has somewhere to live in which is financially supportive and beneficial? They are wanting me to help them since neither of them has internet connection. And supposubly if she cant do it, they are going to run away together. With him being 19 years old and her 17 years old what could happen if they were caught? She is legal age of consent. And if they dont get caught and hide out well enough until she were 18 years old and then return back home, what can happen? Please give me some decent answers, im trying to help give them information on this because they are very close friends and I care alot for them. Thanks!

3 years ago I purchased an item of furniture from a high street retailer on 12 months interest free credit. After several problems with the item they replaced it and I had to set up a new HP agreement (due to the delay in resolution).

Now I've had this item for 2 years now and they haven't taken any money. It is however sitting on my credit reference as a open account.

Now I plan to just do nothing for now as I prefer the money in my account rather than a credit company, but does anyone know if I can get out of paying it altogether or is there a point where thay can't persue payments?
