i love being catholic and stuff, but sometimes i just hate going to church. it's just that priests make it so un-relatable and boring. do you think that's true? or would god be mad because i think this? C= i'm just curious.

To quote the Catechism of the Catholic Church, "...by the consecration of the bread and wine there takes place a change of the whole substance of the bread into the substance of the body of Christ our Lord and of the whole substance of the wine into the substance of his blood."

It seems to be the Roman Catholic position that this sacrament is not merely symbolic, but that the substances involved undergo a real (if invisible) transformation into flesh and blood. But if they are REALLY flesh and blood, doesn't that make all Catholics cannibals?

Lets try to leave aside, for the moment, the question of whether all the other denominations that participate in symbolic cannibalism are also symbolically guilty of it.

My boyfriend is turning 18 in mid-August and I wanted to know if any of you had some ideas on what to get him? We have been dating 7 months and plan on dating for a long time. I want to do something romantic for him but I don't know what. I also want to get him a meaningful gift that is not totally materialistic, but very symbolic of our relationship. I want to duplicate the recipe from my favorite health food store for making a confetti bean salad (cold). They probably use balsamic vinegar ( or red wine vinegar) and olive oil. I don't want it too sour or too sweet.

So would the proportions be 2 olive oil to 1 red wine vinegar or balsamic??? What's the taste difference between red wine vinegar vs. balsamic?

I am a very sarcastic person. Okay, so the title was a little bold and rash, but it was the only way I could put it. Everywhere I go I see that Americans are branded as a whole, rather than individually. Yes, I'm an American, but does that mean that I'm lazy and obese? Just because some people in our country are a bit over the top with the "America is #1!" (sorry, but it's really not. Look at how we treat the people in this country, and then look at other places in the world, we're way down on the number list.) doesn't mean that everyone is like that. Just because our government decided to go to war, doesn't mean that we agree with that. I'm just wondering why people are still doing that, can't I travel and have people like or dislike me because of how I act rather than where I'm from?

When you move to a different part of a country how do you go about finding a job, if you need a job when you get there to pay rent, but in order to get a job you need to go to interviews, which you can't because you don't live there yet...
