NOVEMBER IN NY CAN BE TRICKY. SOMETIMES IT CAN BE KINDA MILD AND OTHER TIMES IT WILL BE COLD AND WINDY IN THE CITY.

YOU MAY WANNA PACK CLOTHES THAT'S WARM ESPECIALLY FOR WALKING AROUND. ALSO A SCARF FOR THE WIND.

FOR RESTAURANTS TRY THE LITTLE ITALY SECTION. THERE IS A LARGE SELECTION OF PLACES TO EAT.
CASA BELLA
COSTA AZZURRA
LUNA'S
SPQR
II CORTILE
ANGELO'S
FRATELLI
ALL OF THESE RESTAURANTS ARE ON MULBERRY ST.

ENJOY!!

The weather won't be wintry cold yet... definetley bring a warm fall jacket and long pants. Also make sure you have comfortable walking shoes...you will be doing a lot of walking. Sometimes there can be a cold brisk wind, so you may want to make sure you pack gloves and a scarf. Just bring things that you can layer under a jacket so you can take layers off if you get hot.

Any italian restaurant on Mulberry St (Little Italy) has fantastic food. Mulberry St is right around the corner from Canal Street (China Town) so you could go there for a little shopping after dinner. They always have cool little things... and you can haggle and negotiate a lower price. China town is a must-see if you will only be in the city for a coule of days.

If you are into chinese food... there is a chinese restaurant on 88th & Amsterdam Ave. that has great food. And the entire time you are there you get free wine. I go every couple of months because my friends and i love it... and for 4 people the bill was around $42. Great food and cheap!

I would pack layers with a warm leather jacket or mid weight wool jacket/coat...layers of cotton and a light wool sweater. Gloves in case it's chilly...scarf can keep you warm if you don't wear too many layers.

Mela is my favorite Italian restaurant in Little Italy. Just awesome food...true Italian...not showy but as if you were dining in your "nona's" home.

Here are some ideas of what you can do while in NYC. First, get a good tour map. Then I recommend you take the BIG APPLE double decker tour bus for an overview of the city. There are several different neighborhoods so I'll highlight these and what to see:
Upper East Side: Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim, Whitney Museum. Walk up and down Madison Avenue for awesome shops and boutiques 96th - 57th st. Walk Park Avenue for architecture all the way to Grand Central Terminal and see the treasures located within. Walk along 5th Avenue to see/go in and out of Central Park - go for a run, go to the Central Park Zoo, go to the Carousel, go for a gondola ride at the boat house.
UPPER WEST SIDE:
Museum of Natural History -a must! on Central Park West,
Walk along Columbus Avenue. Visit the West side of Central Park and pay respects to John Lennon's Strawberry Fields.
MIDTOWN:
Shopping - 57th St (Chanel and the gang), Fifth Avenue - must see Henri Bendel, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks and FAO Schwartz - many other fun stores.
St. Patrick's Cathedral
Museum of Modern Art
Sony Bldg
Rockefeller Center
Go west to awesome new Time Warner center and visit the new Mandarin Hotel bar/restaurant for awesome view and treats!
Oh, Bloomingdale's is on 59th St and Lexington.
Empire State Bldg.
The Intrepid Aircraft Museum is fascinating and on the West side...worth the visit even if you have no kids.

CHELSEA:
Walk around the blooming area sprouting awesome restaurants and shops. Chelsea Pier is fun.

WALL ST:
Pay respects to the 9/11 victims and heroes at the WTC site., Walk Wall St., visit the Chase Hdqtrs, Federal Reserve. Seaport area is great to see.

THE VILLAGE:
Funky shops in the West Village. Walk through the NYU Washington Square Park. The East Village has some shops from new artists and designers

SOHO:
Great galleries and shops on n off West Broadway. Walk thru to Little Italy for awesome meals and desserts...walk through Chinatown. CANAL STREET has stall after stall of Designer "copies"...bring cash and bargain and watch your purse!

These should put an awesome smile on your face. Bring your camera and takes lots of photos to remember your trip. You'll have a blast! OH Don't forget...BUY this weekly magazine: TIMEOUT NEW YORK on any newstand to see what's going on each week/day. :)

Wear layers: a tee, with a long sleeve shirt or a sweater on top, and carry a jacket or light coat. Pack hat and gloves just in case. Or pack nothing, and go shopping when you get there. :P :)

Sorry I can't recommend a restaurant. I usually go for the quick and convenient food when I go down there.

the weather could be anywhere from fall to winter. I would expect fall weather and possibly rain. Fall means clean, crisp air. so sweater weater and possibly a jacket. check weather.com beforehand when you are ready to pack.

Any place in little italy on mulberry street is great. So is Fresco on 52nd Street. If you can get a resrvation, try Mario Batali's Babbo.

NYC is cold during the winter months. depending on where you're from, cold to you might be bearable to us. it's all relative. but i'd say it's in the low 40's mostly. the building create a wind tunnel effect and make it feel colder than it really is.

and try little italy. all the food there is reasonably priced and authentic. but, for dessert, you HAVE to go to ferrera's on grand and mulberry. that's THE place for desserts. trust me.
