wap's have some inherent security and config issues. but for a really good, simple explanation of how all this works, go to www.grc.com/SecurityNow and get the related sessions. also, do NOT use 'WEP' encryption. it's badly broken. go with 'WPA'.

for a home network its easier to set ur access point or router to mac fliter and only allow the macs from ur machines...wap or wep always seems to slow down my connection.
