An argument against alien intervention: it's highly unlikely.
An argument in favor is the percipitous decline of the Egyptian culture after the time of the pyramids; building projects confined themselves to single-story mastaba-style (e.g., Hapshetsut's tomb) buildings, and the odd obelisk, and the culture never advanced any further...very odd...and, indeed, was unable to deflect the Greeks (Alexander), or the Romans (Antony; Caeser), or indeed anyone else.
So, little silver-skinned alien helper pals, yes, or no?
