Bipolar is a serious condition. You want to be in good hands. Use the folks at pathmed as your first line in contact. pathmed.com, 888-231-7284, pathmedical@aol.com

(Your nearest behavorial health center if you have suicide thoughts is primary.)

Talk to your parents about some of the things you've been experiencing, and then tell them about qualified help that I just gave you. If they have health insurance, they may be able to afford the treatments. If not, you will need to get treatment at a local behavorial health center at a hospital. It won't be as good, but it will be something.

If they won't listen after that or seemingly they don't care, then you are on your own, and you should seek therapy, and talk with a staff member about your feelings that your parents aren't supportive.

good luck,
c

Communicate and educate. Maybe you should start with your parents. Sometimes it is easier for a family member to recognize the signs and symptoms of a disorder, such as bi-polar. The manifestations will be recognized by those who are around you most often. It might be eye opening to your parents when they can recognize that things that you all have been dealing with....has a reason. They may be able to help you deal with being bi-polar and may learn to understand exactly what you are dealing with. There is help for you by means of counseling, medication, etc. Good luck to you.

You should tell them. You need to get some professional help with this disorder should you have it. I'm bipolar and I know that I would not be able to function if I didn't have mood stabalizers. Talk to them and get their opinion. It never hurts to ask.

Why do you need them to know? Try speaking to your counselor at school. Also there are online resources.
