In an age when i find it hard to believe in my own government, how can i be expected to keep up my own personal beliefs. I am a buddhist, but i am finding it harder and harder to adhere to the eight fold path and to believe in the four noble truths. Any help?

Me and my x- boyfriends broke up 7 months ago, and were dating for 9 yrs and he left me for another. he's always cheated but this time he left me! So now he wants me back and I don't want him back. I realised I deserved better, and I have told him every lil pain that he had given me, and I learned from it. But now hes' showing up every where I go, and constantly wants to get info about me, and watches me from every corner from his eye. Why can't he juss leave me alone, like how i let him go on with that girl as much as it hurted me I left him alone while i was in pain where my life went downhill. Why is he wanting more from me, why does he want to talk to me now when theres nothing there from my part?

I mean Kate Bosworth is 23 but in the movie she has a 5 yr old son and is an established reporter, doesn't quite add up to me.. Who did you want to play her? I would have liked someone who, herself, is established in her career, and strong and independent, which is not the way I see Kate Bosworth. Also, a natural brunette would have been nice.

Bedroom, and well, it has not been something that gets me going, not that I have tried it but I guess it just never crossed my mind. And what MY QUESTION IS..... Are you people into this stuff? What am I not getting when I picture this in my head? Seriously...... I don't get it.... Maybe it would never be my thing. Oh yah and do all of you men really like this?

Growing up, I had problems with voices in my head. I would ask my mother to send me to a therapist, but she and anyone I tried to confide in would only tell me that it was normal and everyone hears voices, but only the crazy people listen to them.

I have since moved away, and I had mentioned their comments to the people I work with, and they thought I was crazy.

I still hear them, but they are quieter and tend to appear only when I'm alone or quiet.

I have attempted to recieve medical help for this, but all I get is "You're depressed. Take this medication."

They never work, and the only thing that has ever helped is reading, watching anime or the show Family Guy.(Anything that puts me into another world.)So, I've kind of developed an addiction to it. They are the only things that make it possible to concentrate.
What I want to know is if it is normal for there to be voices in my head outside of my conscience?

I'm looking for serious answers, not people bashing anime, me, etc

So, I'm 19 years old and majoring in engineering. I plan to get my degree first before joining the army. I will be done in about two years.

However, after finishing my degree, I want to join the Army. My questions are:

1) How long do I have to serve. I have heard some people say two years, while others say eight years. I want to go to medical school eventually, so I don't want to spend too long in the Army.
2) What is the Individual Ready Reserve?
3) If I join the Army, what MOS's are available to me?
4) I am an Arab-American who was in Kuwait when the US kicked Saddam out, so I want to give something back to the US. I love this country and its ideals -- however, I don't feel our current political leadership lives up to its ideals. What is it like in the Army for liberals/non-Republicans? I have heard all sorts of things, like the army is super-conservative. Can any enlisted soldiers tell me what it is like in the Army politically?
