I was wondering if diner and a movie is too weird for a first date. Also, I have seen a few topics talking about puting your arm around their shoulder and I was wondering if that is going too far on a first date if we are both shy.

Thanks in advance!

Dinner and movie is a great first date. You can talk over dinner. Putting yor arm around their shoulder is not going to far on the first date. Holding hands and kissing is also okay on the first date. Have fun!!!! You can also go bowling or putt-putt golfing.

No, dinner and movie is a perfect date. Going to a movie is good because you don't have to talk (you do the talking part over dinner). And if the dinner doesn't go well, then at least you can watch a movie and not have to talk to him or her.

In reference to the arm on the shoulder thing, take your cues from the other person (if they seem to be nervous, don't do it and if they are the touchy-feely kind of people (the signs of that are: they hold your hand, they pick lint off of your shirt, or they keep touching you) then go for it. I personally would like to be more comfortable with a guy before he puts his arm on my shoulder (the first date is too soon for me).

I assume you are in your teens. If memory serves me right (I am in my thirties and married) dinner and a movie are just fine for a first date. Go to the show first though, so that you have something to talk about on the date. Arm around the person? I think that's fine. If you decide not to do the movie thing, try an activity like a carnival or go bowling. Doing something can calm your nerves. you don't have to constantly think about what to say.

Good luck!!

no its not some girls like that nothing weird about it at all. Thats a maybe because some girls like that some dont it depend. But if your both shy then take it slow she if she want your arm around her u can tell by the vibe she's sending u. If she see u trying she might let u, so u wont have to do it.Well some girls will some wont i've never been on a date but i could tell and because of my friends etc. *Good luck with that^^

On your 1st date it's best to go to dinner, because that way u can talk and get to know each other. Movers can be a 2ND or 3rd date. But it's always best to go some place u can talk and learn about each other that way u can decide if u would like to go on the 2nd or 3rd date.

the only thing thats wrong with dinner and a movie is, if ur both shy dinner prolly wont go as well as you want because you wont have topics to talk about, and it depends on your age, i think the best thing place to go on a first date would be to a movie and then out for like ice cream simple and after the movie you have something to talk about while your out for ice cream.... and its cheaper then dinner

You can go out with a group and then slowly transition to going alone. It worked for me. Don't do the arm thing until you start holding hands.

Movies can be unhealthy for first dates because there is little talking going on between you.

Agree, dinner and movie is great. At least it works for me. =)
For other "touch", depend on the environment and other conditions like the relationship between you two. For me, it's not for the first date!
