It's the age old question.

Pretzels are yummy. Pretzels are crunchy. Pretzel's can save you from a horde of angry horses. But are they logical!?!??!

I agree with Tralfamadore , " these pretzels ARE making me THIRSTY!!!!" or was it "THESE pretzels are MAKING ME thirsty!"? or "These PRETZELS are making me me THIRSTY!" This is what Stanley mused over and over in his mind as he viewed Seinfield reruns with the sound off and listened to Steely Dan on that triple digit Californian afternoon with the fan rythmically moving side to side. His chihuahua panting in his lap was wondering ,"when are we going to go for another ride? I miss the little woman we visited..." Logically ,He should have been in the pool , but his mind was instead turning on this phrase and it's ultimate meaning, finally in self loathing he made a decisive move that sent Taco scrambling, "what am I even contemplating on this so long for? Pretzels aren't even a logical object for conversation much less meditation of this depth."..And then the door bell rang, it was a guy selling little plaques documenting the historical and spiritual value of ...and you won't believe this ...PRETZELS.... Stanley felt that familiar sinking feeling beginning. When will he ever just be right about just one thing?

I have to argue against the entire idea of "Pretzel Logic." First and foremost, most people first hear of this system of logic by listening to the Australian rock group, Steely Dan. Steely Dan, like most rock groups, was heavily influenced by drugs. We learn in our post-industrial society that drug use is illogical for aspiring minds of our society. Therefore, how can we trust a system of reasoning based on the acid trips of an insanely druggy band from down under to in fact be logical? Next, who the Hell derives a systematic way of thinking based on a carnival food item. I mean, come on... how does that make sense? If you can answer that, then maybe, just maybe, pretzels can be seen as logical.

Totally illogical. Who in their right mind would make something that looks like that? Everytime you bit on one of those things, crumbs go everywhere! Of course if you're talking about the stick pretzels... then very logical.

I guess pretzels have their own twisted logic. Pretzels, like hate and prejudice ideologies and philosophies, are the logical result of "twisting" things. It would be wonderful if fanatical bigots could eat and excrete their own twisted ideas as soon as they produce a batch. Otherwise, the torque of trouble equals the twist of intolerance. Evil "logically follows" from minds twisted from hate and prejudice, but is irrational nonetheless.

The logic of the pretzel: back in the 16th century monks gave out little cakes called pretiolas, roughly traslated bracelets because you could wear them like bracelets, to children who learned their prayers. the crisscrossed dough was either a symbol of the cross or a synbol of the penitent monks wit arms crossed. At any rate that is the logic of the pretzel, it is a little reward for being good.

They must be logical because Steely Dan made an album called "Pretzel logic" that included the song "Rikki Don't Lose that Number"

Most definitely Pretzel's are LOGICAL.

Pretzel's are an 'Object de Art'...unlike most people we meet.
Pretzel's are delicious to eat...unlike most people we meet.
Pretzel's are conversation pieces...unlike most people we meet.
And yes "Pretzel's can save you from a horde of angry horses"... unlike most people we meet.

And in the END Pretzel's come out as just a bunch of "CRAP"... JUST LIKE YOUR QUESTION.
