Basically, I have to get to the SF Building Division tomorrow, during the day, and I want to take BART to the nearest station. I hate walking in the seedier parts of town, and now I'm pregnant and extra paranoid. Do you think I should walk from the 16th St. Mission station, or the Civic Center station?

We are thinking of taking our son to Gilroy for the weekend of the Garlic Festival. It's a long drive for us-about seven hours. Is it worth it??? I'm excited to hear your experience with it. I saw it on TV and it sounds like a ton of fun.

Hello,
I'm looking to visit san fran with a couple of friends before I return to uni. I'll be coming over for 8 days, and wish to fit in as much as possible...
I'm not looking for things to do within the city itself, as I can ask my parents...read books etc, but, firstly after working all summer...i would want a day out to chill...beach or something...is there anywhere where we could go, thats relatively close (public transp) where we could fit in a few hrs on the beach?
How far is mexico from san. fran? is it worth going that far? what else would be worth doing with such a short period of time?

cheers!

Matt

Let's say you make $80,000. You have no debt, no car, and want to live in a safe neighborhood close to downtown (within 3 miles). You're willing to pay about $1,500 a month for a studio apartment. You'll also work on a master's degree that should boost your income up higher in the future (2 to 3 years from now). Should you move to San Francisco?

I am thinking about moving to SF in the late summer for work. I currently work for an investment trust in London but need a break and I think the bay area, especially SF may cut it for me career wise as well as quality-of-life wise.

What can you tell me about extracurricular activies in SF, bars/clubs, places to visit, museums etc? I'd rather hear it from people who actually live there or have been than instead of googling it.

Many thanks!
