Peir 39 is loaded with stuff for the whole family I'
m taking my 6 year old neice there next week in fact.
There are tons of great resturants to eat at
The San Francisco Aquarium is there. You and your kids will both love this and you can spend hours there)
At the end of the peir there is a big carousel
Behind the Carousel there is a stage where street preformers preform every hour allot of themare jugglers and magicians.
There are several boat tours that leave from there for you and your family to jump on. Including the Alcatraz tour which is lots of fun but lots of walking make sure the kids are up for it.
have fun I hope this helps.

These are all things that I enjoyed when I was about 10, and I still enjoy them now at 15. =]
Golden Gate Park (I loved the playground there)
Fisherman's Wharf (Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum and the Wax Museum are fun)
Ghiradelli Square (good ice cream and chocolate =] )
The Rainforest Café restaurant (great to do if you've never been to one before)
Pier 39 (there's an aquarium and a carousel there)
Ride a cable car
The San Francisco Zoo
SF Giants baseball game (if there is one) at AT&T Park
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (it's a fun amusement park that has both animal shows and good rides--it's in Vallejo though, not SF)
Have fun!

You MUST take them to Alcatraz Island, drive down the crookedest street-Lombard St-go to pier 39 & Fisherman's Wharf & Ghiradelli Sq(all in walking distance), drive across the golden gate bridge, ride a cable car, go to the entrance of chinatown & have tea at the compass rose in the lobby of the westin st francis hotel. These are all the things I did when I was 12 & obviously I remember them fondly!
