My husband and I are moveing to melbourne from the UK. We are currently lookin in the inner western suburbs. But as we don't know the suburbs I am looking for any handy hints or options of the areas. Preferably, it would be nice if there was a location like this near a large body of water (ocean, large river or lake). I'm hoping there is something like this in Latin America or South America, but I'd like to hear about any places that might fit the bill. It would be fine if there was only snow for part of the year. And it would also be fine if there was simply dense jungle (tropical or not). Links to pictures would be appreciated, if possible.

My favorite place is this little beach town on the east coast of FL. Everyone is so friendly there,and you always feel at home.The crime rate there is like zero, &&everyone is so laid back.
