Venice at dawn when it's nice and quiet, sailing down the Grand Cannel, with just a few passengers on the vapouretto (water bus), watching the medevial buildings on both sides of the cannel, St Marco square when the early morning sun rays cast long long shadows on the grat big square with a couple of lonely souls and countless of pigeons, quiet and deserted narrow streets, bridges crossing the waterways which would get very crowded a few hours from then!

It's a toss up between Gimmelwald, Switzerland and Koh Samui, Thailand. Both are off the beaten path, are incredible experiences. The people are especially friendly in Thailand.
