We are going to Tamarindo in May with 6 adults and 2 kids. We want to stay in town, likely at the El Diria. We are deciding between 3 hotel rooms beachside versus the attached condos (Villa Mar Azul) across the street next to the big pool of the Diria? Has anyone stayed at the condos? How are they relative to the hotel rooms? Is it a pain to walk across the street to use the hotel? (I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 1 year old kid.)

We are currently looking at three different companies.

The Original Canopy Tour

Sky Trek

Selvatura Park

Does anybody have anything to say about any of these tours? Can you compare them and say which would be the best?

Thanks so much!

My girlfriend and I each need a backpack for a 2 week adventure in Costa Rica. Our trip will mainly find us traveling south down the Nicoya peninsula hitting up many beaches along the way. So we would be needing something very light and easy to carry on the back, but big enough to carry cloths and supplies for 2 weeks...any suggestions with links???? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be hiking extensively in Costa Rica's rainforests next month and wonder about snakes, especially fer-de-lance. I'll be wearing boots and long pants at all times. Is this sufficient protection?

I was wondering how often I will need to have the local currency? For example, taxi, bar and food bill, hotel bill, stores? Obviously, the less money changed is better since there is always a charge to convert.

Hi! I plan to go to Costa rica next summer (mid-July to mid-august) with my girlfriend. Where should I spend more of my time in Costa rica? South or north ? What about spending some time to Panama and Nicaragua ? We will probably go there and take the bus to move from places to other places ! So all advises are welcome :) Thanks a lot !

I am planning on buying 2 round trip tickets from OAKLAND to SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA from March 15th 2007 and returning March 29th 2007. Is $550 round trip a goood price, or do you suggest that I wait, and the prices may go down later? I know March is a pretty nice month in Costa Rica, so I think the airfares may go up, but I am definatly not an expert......Any thoughts? THANKS!

I'm going to CR over Christmas: Monteverde, Bellanos Beach, Jaco, and a couple of other places along the west coast.

What kind of weather should I expect?

I'm planning on studying abroad sometime in the next year or two and I'm looking at either mexico or spain, but I've considered Costa Rica as well, Only problem is is I've heard that there are snakes everywhere in Costa Rica and I'm scared to death of snakes. Is this true, or are there parts that would be safe for me?

I'm a M.Ed student. I would like to do my Student Teaching in the San Jose area of Costa Rica. I have a daughter who will be turning 4 that semester (Spring 2009), so I need to be able to put her in a good Preschool. Does anyone have any recommendations about a good Preschool in the area, preferably close to U. Latina or la UNA (Universidad Nacional)?
