I am planning on buying 2 round trip tickets from OAKLAND to SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA from March 15th 2007 and returning March 29th 2007. Is $550 round trip a goood price, or do you suggest that I wait, and the prices may go down later? I know March is a pretty nice month in Costa Rica, so I think the airfares may go up, but I am definatly not an expert......Any thoughts? THANKS!

I just bought two tickets to san jose, costa rica from Feb. 8-10 leaving from LA, non stop and it cost me 1165 for both. I checked like two months ago and it was cheaper. The longer you wait the more it goes up. Also, consider the semana santa , the prices are higher and many of the businesses seem to be closed all that week. I did alot of research on Costa Rica and spoke to many travel agents and that was something they told me. Have FUN!!!

I would say yes. When I went in February last year, it cost me about that much. You are going during the high season, everything will be more expensive. However, don't think that it's not going to rain, because it still will, just not as much as the other months. I didn't really think Costa Rica was all that green. I thought Hawaii was a lot greener. Beautiful country to visit, really. But you really need to be an outdoorsy person, lots of hiking, zip lining - that you have to do. We went on a river cruise and saw all sorts of animals. Hope you have a great time.

Thats not a bad fare at all. I will tell you airfares rarely go down, but they often go up. I would go ahead and buy the tickets if you are sure of the dates. Have a wonderful trip. Costa Rica is great!

Yes, from California it is a good price. I doubt that prices will go down significantly. You would be taking a big risk to wait to see if you could save $20-$30.

that is definitely a fair price. if you wanted you could probably get an all inclulsive package for around $1200 but there is so much to do you will never be at the resort.
